Weeding Out the Wheat Review

Trisha Gilkerson of Intoxicated on Life has come out with a great little book, (99 pages) on that ever more popular topic of wheat and going gluten free. Trisha really handles the topic in a very sound and thorough manner tackling the question from several different angles. She starts by defining some of the common words in the gluten free world so that we all can be on the same page together with her. She goes through indications that may be present if gluten is causing trouble in  your body. She discusses testing and the various options that exist at this time. Did you know that irritable bowel syndrome, migraines, anxiety, chronic fatigues and most other autoimmune diseases are all indicative of a problem in the body related to wheat?

So far this book is perhaps no different from much of what is already out there on the topic. But then Trisha tackles the whole Biblical aspect of wheat and its prominence in Biblical culture. With great wisdom she navigates through this difficult territory and leaves us with some sound principles to make our own decisions.

The book does not contain any recipes. It is more of a primer to help you think through the potential implications for wheat and how it may affect you. In conclusion she does a great job of summarizing the main points of the book and then leaving you with a positive plan of how to eat for good health. I highly recommend this book.

It is available in PDF, print, and also in Kindle. And for the first few days of the launch, through the 1st the Kindle and print versions are only $1.99 rather than 9.99. That is a price you cannot beat and that probably won’t be duplicated again.

If you are seeing this review after the 1st the sale is no longer on but the book is still available and still worth your dollars.
