I received this review copy in exchange for an honest review.

I read a lot of health books. And most of them are good. I learn a few things and I put them on my shelf as good reference books. But every once in a while I read a special book – a book that changes my life. Two years ago I read a book like that Dr. Jason Fung’s book The Obesity Code. And this year 2018 I read another book like this- Keto By Maria and Craig Emmerich.

The keto diet has become very popular but there is a lot of misinformation out there about the keto diet and what it is. The Emmerich’s have eaten keto for years and really understand the ins and out of what eating this way means. They are great examples of how keto can be a very healthy diet and be really life changing.

The book sets out to explain, first how our bodies work and how disease disrupts our bodies. Then from there the keto diet is explained and set into context of how it makes a difference in the way our bodies work. How keto can help various diseases is one significant chapter. Another is common mistakes of keto (one of my favorite chapters). Another very significant chapter is how exercise and the keto diet work together   And there is even a chapter on fasting, which is near and dear to my heart.

This book is easy to read and the explanations are simple and clear. I love the way they put the facts together to make a clear picture of the value of the keto diet. They dismantle the myths one by one in a way that makes so much sense. If you are reluctant to try the keto diet or wonder if it is for you, then give this book a read. By the time you finish you will have a much clearer picture of the benefit to be derived for your body.

Maria Emmerich also has a number of wonderful cookbooks. I own and have reviewed Keto Comfort Foods. This is a cookbook I use often in my home. I also have Easy Dairy Free Ketogenic Recipes, which I am just beginning to use. I can tell you any of her recipes are worth putting the effort into to cook. And once you see her cookbooks you realize that eating a ketogenic diet is not one of deprivation but instead one of satisfaction, great flavors, and good health.

Keto is a book I will read and reread and come back to for reference for myself and clients that I coach. If you have ever considered the keto diet or if you are already eating low carb and want to understand it more, this book is for you. Or if you want to know if it can help you in your health struggles then I recommend you take the time to read Keto and add it to your library too.

Im hypoglycemic and my son is a type 1 diabetic so keto interests us to help keep our blood glucose levels normal. Also my husband has a lot of type 2’s in his family and he is using keto to loose weight and avoid being another type 2 statistic.

I love Maria’s books! Her recipes are amazing and were a lifesaver at a time when keto cooking for me became repetitive and boring. She and Craig have such great insight and knowledge to impart; I’ve been very excited about this new book but haven’t yet been able to get it. So much to learn about such a great way to heal and feel healthy!

When researching different diets I came across Maria’s website about 2 years ago. I love the information that she presented & started to follow. I felt like she really offered a lot of good information about the Ketogenic way of eating. I started with & read through Keto-Adapted and have hooked ever since. Maria has many awesome recipes to choose from and you’re definitely not limited on what you can cook & eat. Collecting her cookbooks has been kind of an obsession.

I am a diabetic and overweight and it seems to me that the keto way of life might be my saviour. I’m hoping so anyway! I think I need guidance.and recipes and ideas. This book sounds ideal and the authors obviously talk and walk the talk! I may have to invest in the recipe books as well. Thank you for the opportunity to enter this competition.

I’m on a learning journey, doing everything in my power to take my health into my own hands. What I have done so far has kept me out of the doctor’s office and off medications. But just as our bodies are continually changing, so is the information out there about what to eat and why. Would love to learn more about the Keto diet as I am using all the information I acquire to form my own best eating plan.
