Avocado oil is a newer oil on the scene and it is presented as a healthy option.  We have heard this before about other oils, so let’s take a good look at this fruity oil to see what kinds of benefits it offers.

Health benefits of avocado oil include regulating metabolism, improving the immune system, reducing prostate cancer risk, combating aging and acute diseases, maintaining eye health, improving blood health, and combating heart diseases. Other benefits include maintaining dental health, improving joint health, fighting arthritis, repairing dry and damaged hair, and improving skin health.

Avocadoes have become very popular in recent times. They are berries, which make them a fruit instead of a vegetable. The high content of healthy fats in avocados is the reason for the popularity of this fruit among those whose diets are high fat. Plus, they provide a great source of calories. And avocado oil is the product of this high-fat fruit. In this article, we are going to discuss the health benefits of avocado oil.

1. Improves the Immune System

Avocado oil is a carrier in the natural use of many vitamins. Primarily, it can improve the absorption of carotenoids and Vitamin E – these are extremely important in the proper functioning of your immune system. Hence, increasing the intake of avocado oil means an improved resistance to illness.

2. Combats Heart Disease

The oleic acid present in avocado is Omega-9 that is a far less well-known member of the omega family. This is primary since it can be produced in our body to an extent, yet a dietary intake of oleic acid can have huge benefits on the health and the longevity of the heart, helping to protect against plaque accumulation in our arteries and coronary heart disease.

3. Improves Blood Health

“Blood lipids” refers to the balance of different fats in the bloodstream, with bad and good cholesterols as well as triglycerides. Too much of either triglycerides or bad cholesterol can cause hyperlipidemia and result in serious problems such as an increase in blood pressure and the blocking of arteries. Compared to other oils like corn, coconut, and even olive oil, avocado oil has the best effects on reducing bad cholesterol. Although these haven’t been discussed in human studies, the animal studies indicate promising results.

4. Maintains Eye Health

Avocado oil contains a variety of antioxidant agents. Since it is produced from the avocado pulp rather than the kernel or seed of other plants, it has a greater quantity of phytochemicals. These plant-based chemicals provide health benefits and have certain effects similar to vitamins. Lutein is only one example of this, which is incredibly effective antioxidants and have similar effects on the eye health that we usually see in vitamin A.

5. Fights Aging And Serious Diseases

Besides the specific impacts of lutein, the antioxidant properties of avocado oil can decrease the risks of cell damage that is the main cause of the negative impacts of aging, the development of cancer and the degradation of the organs. By making a switch from corn oil to avocado oil, we

can reduce the internal and external signs of aging and improve the health for the future. This is a huge benefit, yet even more so as we consider avocado oil is delicious!

6. Decreases Prostate Cancer Risks

Phytosterols, cholesterol-like compounds present in plant foods, can also improve the wellbeing of your body through the prevention of some types of cancer. Phytosterols present in avocado oil have been indicated to preferentially affect the chances of the prostate cancer development, which means that the switch from corn oil to avocado oil could reduce the risks of the life-changing medical condition development.

7. Regulates Metabolism

The avocado oil composition is likewise useful for the health – it’s mainly constituted by monounsaturated fats that are effective in the healthy secretion of insulin and the control of blood sugar levels. For those who have type 2 diabetes, this can be a huge benefit. There’re likewise low levels of Omega 3 and 6 presenting in avocado oil that cannot be synthesized by the body, hence they should be represented in the diet.

8. Improves Joint Health And Combats Arthritis

Studies have indicated that the consumption of some kinds of fat, including avocado oil, can ease the stiffness and pain in your joints which are the symptoms of arthritis. This is another common condition associated with aging and can be incredibly uncomfortable. This may mean there’re protective impacts from avocado oil on people who are in the early stages of developing arthritis.

9. Maintains Dental Health When We Age

The decrease in the severity of arthritis is also associated with dental health: the uptake of minerals into bone and dental tissues are a vital part of continued health in these areas. Researches show that avocado oil blocks proteins which degrade bone and tooth minerals, helping in the maintenance of enamel and dentin. If you can maintain the health of potassium and calcium in these parts of the body, you can maintain healthier bones, teeth, and gums into advanced age.

10. Improves Skin Health

Avocado oil helps to improve skin health whether we apply it directly to the skin or use it as cooking oil! We have already mentioned the impact of avocado oil in enhancing the absorption of vitamin E and vitamin A, yet vitamin E is closely relevant to the health of the skin. Equally, as you apply avocado oil to the skin, it’s a moisturizing agent, provides UV protection and contains chemicals like persin that are used to fight cancer cells. The anti-inflammatory impacts of avocado oil may be directly effective as applied to the skin, helping to reduce the appearance of inflammation around spots, blemishes, and low-level irritations.

11. Repairs And Conditions Dry Hair

Avocado oil is helpful for the health and cosmetic properties of hair as applied directly to the hair or consumed with food. The absorption and use of important nutrients are achieved through cooking, yet a direct application to your hair supports the balance of essential oils and aids in

repairing the damage. This is usually used to treat the damage related to excessive grooming, heat, cold, wind and dry hair from the genetic disposition.

Side Effects And Other Concerns

The only real concern for the consumption of avocado oil is the concentration of persin. This is a fungicidal toxin present in avocado plants which are used to combat fungal infections like mold, yet it has been claimed that there’re specific concerns about the damage of health. This compound is mainly useful in damaging cancer cells – hence its value as applied to the skin – yet some individuals can experience severe allergies to it. If you’re allergic to persin, it’s incredibly important to consult the healthcare professional and avoid avocado oil because it can have a concentrated form of persin that depends on the distilling process. For those who have no such allergies, there’re almost no negative side impacts, and the consumption of persin has not been indicated to cause adverse health effects.

Heating Avocado Oil

With health benefits similar to olive oil, a smoke point high enough to avoid toxins and trans fats and low in polyunsaturated fat, there isn’t another oil available that is better better for high heat applications, except maybe coconut oil.
